The Salisbury School is seeking a bright and responsible individual that loves working with school aged children to assist a head teacher in an elementary school classroom. Assistant teachers provide head teachers with academic and administrative support, and work with small groups of students. The ideal candidate would hold a Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
Starting Date: Late August 2026
Job Overview: Perform duties that are instructional in nature and supports students, teachers and parents during the academic program.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide teachers with support in the classrooms. Teacher Assistants work under the guidance and supervision of the teacher assigned to the class.
- Engage with students in activities.
- Housekeeping: putting the classroom in order; passing out paper, pencils, and textbooks; and helping with classroom projects as assigned by the teacher.
- Take attendance and walk children to the bathroom during classroom sessions.
- Supervise and walk children from one class to the other until dismissal time.
- Any other additional duties as assigned by the Headmaster and Teacher.
