As a Medical Assistant / Clinical Research Coordinator (MA/CRC), you’ll play a vital role in improving patient outcomes while contributing to studies that advance wound care treatment. What You’ll Do - Clinical Wound Care (Medical Assistant)
- Room patients, collect vitals, medical history, medications, and wound-specific information
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure all wound care supplies and equipment are ready
- Assist providers with procedures including:
- Wound cleansing & dressing changes
- Debridement setup
- Compression therapy
- Negative pressure wound therapy
- Perform wound measurements and clinical photography per protocol
- Educate patients and caregivers on:
- Wound care techniques
- Infection prevention
- Nutrition and follow-up care
- Maintain strict infection control standards (PPE, room sanitation, etc.)
- Coordinate referrals, labs, imaging, and prior authorizations
- Document accurately in the EHR and communicate effectively with care teams
Clinical Research Coordination
Study & Patient Management
- Identify and screen eligible patients for clinical studies
- Coordinate research visits alongside clinic appointments
- Support informed consent process in compliance with IRB and regulations
- Serve as a key point of contact for study participants
Data Collection & Execution
- Collect and document research data (wound assessments, vitals, photos, surveys)
- Enter data into EDC systems (e.g., REDCap) with precision
- Track study timelines, visit windows, and required assessments
- Assist with specimen handling and investigational product tracking
Regulatory & Compliance
- Maintain regulatory binders and assist with IRB submissions
- Ensure adherence to GCP, HIPAA, and regulatory standards
- Participate in audits, monitoring visits, and sponsor interactions
- Support SOP development and quality improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA) or equivalent experience
- BLS/CPR certification (or obtained after)
- 2+ years of direct patient care experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Comfortable with EHR systems and data entry
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or training in clinical research (GCP, IRB, CITI)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
- Experience with EDC systems (e.g., REDCap, Medidata)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
