Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled NIGHT Advanced Manufacturing Instructor to lead and inspire students in a vibrant educational environment focused on manufacturing, construction, and technical skills. This role involves delivering engaging instruction during evening hours to prepare students for careers in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, HVAC, welding, aircraft maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, and more. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise, experience working with diverse student populations, and a passion for adult education.
The Advanced Manufacturing teacher is responsible in planning and teaching the core classes that provides the academics, career and technical education and skills for student in the Advanced Manufacturing program. In addition to classroom theory, laboratory skills practice and technical instruction will be included in program approvals and coordinating apprenticeship opportunities with community industry partners and will actively engage in all staff activities.
Duties
- Deliver comprehensive classroom and hands-on instruction in advanced manufacturing topics including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, welding, automotive diagnostics, HVAC/R systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance.
- Design and update course curricula to ensure alignment with current industry practices and educational standards.
- Utilize educational technologies such as Blackboard and online instruction platforms to enhance learning experiences for students.
- Facilitate engaging lessons tailored to adult learners from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess student progress through practical demonstrations, written assessments, and project evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Maintain a safe learning environment by adhering to OSHA standards and promoting safety protocols during all instructional activities.
- Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and incorporate real-world applications into teaching modules.

- Coordinating instruction and sharing educational space with the evening Manufacturing Program.
- Coordinating and sponsoring a chapter of Skills USA, the Career and Technical Service Organization (CTSO) for the program.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing, construction, automotive repair, HVAC/R systems, aircraft maintenance or related technical fields.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, electrical systems, plumbing, welding, automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Demonstrated ability to teach technical skills using classroom training experience and adult education methodologies.
- Proficiency with computers and educational technologies such as Blackboard or similar online instruction platforms.
- Experience working with post-secondary students or adult learners from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Familiarity with course design, curriculum development, and instructional best practices for higher education settings.
- Certifications or hands-on experience in OSHA safety standards are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a passion for mentoring students in technical disciplines.
- Minimum of five years in Advanced Manufacturing industry
- Prior experience as an instructor preferred
- As a condition of employment, the individual selected for this position will be expected to complete the APS-sponsored Linguistically Diverse Educator (LDE) Certificate Program within the first three years of employment. - Successful candidate must possess or be eligible to obtain a Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license, and a Colorado Career and Technical Education (CTE) secondary/postsecondary full-time credential.
