Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient clinic.
- Support physicians and or nurse practitioners with clinical tasks such as medication administration, vaccinations, procedures and basic life support (BLS) when needed.
- Conduct routine assessments including vital signs measurement, anatomy and physiology-related evaluations, ICD coding for diagnoses, and basic physiology knowledge application.
- Manage medical administrative support tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, and documentation of medical records.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or hospital environments; clinic experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration procedures.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
- Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient data management.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings such as urgent care centers or outpatient clinic experience is a plus. Must be able to pass a back check. Must not have a criminal record.
