Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled CDL Operator - Transportation Equipment Operator to join our team and drive our heavy-duty fleet with confidence and precision. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of commercial vehicles and heavy equipment to support construction, paving, excavation, and site development projects. Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles such as dump trucks, water trucks, tankers, and other transportation equipment safely and efficiently across construction sites.
- Handle heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and horizontal drilling equipment to assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and paving tasks.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections on all equipment to ensure safety standards are met and perform routine maintenance checks.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites by transporting materials, tools, and machinery as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations related to heavy equipment operation and transportation activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and crew members to coordinate logistics, delivery schedules, and site requirements.
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicle usage, inspections, maintenance records, and delivery documentation.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, tankers, paving machines, and horizontal drilling rigs.
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL license; familiarity with DOT regulations is essential.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as Caterpillar machinery or similar brands.
- Construction site experience with knowledge of safety standards and site logistics.
- Ability to operate multiple types of heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, loaders, water trucks, dozers, backhoes, and horizontal drills.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and project managers.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor issues on vehicles or equipment to minimize downtime.
