The Opportunity
We're hiring experienced CNC Setup Machinists to join Cadrex's aerospace manufacturing team in Southampton, PA.
This facility specializes in precision-machined aerospace components, producing complex parts from aluminum, stainless steel, and magnesium for demanding applications where quality and accuracy are critical.
While the facility operates both mills and lathes, these openings are focused primarily on 4 and 5-axis CNC mills. You'll work with modern equipment from Haas, DMG Mori, and Doosan, all utilizing Fanuc controls, producing components ranging from hand-sized precision parts to large components measuring approximately 2 feet by 2 feet.

What You'll Be Doing
CNC Machining & Setup
- Perform machine setups and changeovers as production requires
- Load and verify CNC programs
- Install tooling, fixtures, and workholding
- Make offsets and process adjustments
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
- Optimize machining processes while maintaining quality and efficiency
Inspection & Quality
- Perform first article inspections when required
- Complete in-process inspections throughout production
- Deburr finished components
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
- Consistently hold tolerances to ±0.001"
- Verify finished components meet customer specifications before release
Production Support
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas
- Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and fellow machinists
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department
Shift Responsibilities
1st Shift
Monday–Friday | 7:30am – 4:00pm
First Shift is where the majority of new jobs are introduced into production.
You'll work closely with programmers, engineering, and quality while:
- Performing complete machine setups
- Loading and verifying programs
- Completing first article inspections
- Validating processes before production begins
- Helping optimize new and repeat jobs
This shift is ideal for machinists who enjoy setup work, collaboration, and process development.
2nd Shift
Monday–Thursday | 3:30pm – 2:00am
Second Shift focuses on maintaining efficient production after jobs have been released.
While setups are still performed as production requires, the primary focus is:
- Troubleshooting machining and tooling issues
- Making offsets and process adjustments
- Maintaining quality throughout production
- Supporting multiple machines and keeping production moving
- Working independently with fewer interruptions
If you enjoy solving problems and keeping production running, this shift offers a high level of autonomy while earning an additional 15% shift premium.
What We're Looking For
Required
- CNC setup experience
- Experience running 4 or 5-axis CNC mills
- Fanuc control experience
- Ability to load CNC programs and perform machine setups
- Experience performing first article and in-process inspections
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of GD&T and precision inspection
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
- Ability to consistently hold tolerances to ±0.001"

- DMG Mori experience
- Doosan experience
- Aerospace machining experience
- Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, or magnesium

Schedule & Overtime
1st Shift

Many machinists choose to come in early for additional overtime.
2nd Shift

Overtime
- Completely voluntary
- Employees frequently come in early during the week for additional hours on 1st shift. 2nd shift has option for up to 10 hours on Friday.
- Optional 6-hour Saturday shifts available for those who want extra income
