The short version: We need a sales rep who can sit at a kitchen table, build trust with a homeowner, and close HVAC replacement deals. You'll earn 10-15% commission on every job you sell. No cap. No ceiling. The more you close, the more you make.
What the money actually looks like:
The average residential HVAC system replacement in our market runs $7,000 to $15,000+. At 10-15% commission, that's $700 to $2,250 per deal. A good closer running 3-4 appointments per day can realistically earn $10,000 to $25,000+ per month. Top performers in this pay structure clear six figures within their first year.
This is not a base salary + small bonus situation. This is eat-what-you-kill money, and the plate is full — Louisiana summers don't take days off.
What you'll actually be doing:
You'll be running pre-set appointments with homeowners who already need HVAC work. You assess their system, walk them through their options, and close the deal on the spot. You're not cold knocking doors or standing in Home Depot. These are warm leads — people who called us because their AC died in July.
You will also be expected to generate your own leads over time through referrals, follow-ups, and relationship building. The best sales reps in this industry build a referral engine that feeds itself.
Day to day:
- Run 2-4 in-home consultations per day across the Northshore and Greater New Orleans area (Slidell, Covington, Mandeville, Kenner, New Orleans, Hammond and surrounding)
- Diagnose the homeowner's comfort issues and recommend the right system — not the most expensive one, the right one
- Present pricing, financing options, and close the deal
- Follow up with unsold estimates
- Coordinate with the install team on scheduling and job details
- Track your pipeline and appointments in our system
Who does well in this role:
- You've sold in-home before — HVAC, roofing, solar, windows, pest control, water treatment, doesn't matter. You know how to sit at a kitchen table and close.
- You're self-motivated. Nobody is going to micromanage you. You manage your own schedule and your own results.
- You can explain technical concepts in plain English without talking down to people.
- You're honest. We don't do high-pressure bait-and-switch. We quote fair, we install right, and we build a reputation. If that's not your style, this isn't the role.
- You have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. You're covering ground every day.
Nice to have but not required:
- HVAC product knowledge (we'll train you on equipment and sizing)
- EPA 608 certification
- Experience with HouseCall Pro or similar CRM
