Position: Foster Care Program Director
Status: Salaried/Exempt
Starting Salary Range $77,000-$84,250
General Description:
Under general supervision of the Vice President of Child Welfare, develops, coordinates, directs, and controls the operations of an Agency facility and assigned Program(s) and associated staff; proactively fosters the mission, goals, and values of the Agency, as well as compliance with the requirements of applicable local, state, and federal regulatory and/or other accrediting agencies.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Child Welfare.. Qualifications (required at time of offer):
Requirements:
At time of appointment, shall possess one of the following:
Master’s degree in human behavioral science or in another major where 25% of the course credits earned toward the degree are in human behavioral sciences, business administration or public administration from an accredited college or university and 2 years of experience in an agency or child caring institute, at least 1 of which is in a management capacity.
Bachelor’s degree in human behavioral science or in another major where 25% of the course credits earned toward the degree are in human behavioral sciences, business administration or public administration from an accredited college or university and 4 years of post-bachelor's degree experience in an agency or child caring institute, at least 2 of which are in a management capacity.
- Exemplary knowledge of assigned Program aspects.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office and related applications or other IBM-compatible word processing program.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, with “regular” business hours set by the Agency.
- Satisfaction of all employment eligibility and Agency hiring requirements.
- Responsibilities (illustrative and not intended as inclusive; specific responsibilities may vary):
General:
- Ensures effective fiscal management of Program operations.
- Accurately and timely prepares, maintains, and reviews all Program-related budgetary reports, contract-specific procedures, and other Agency-specific reports and filings.
- Actively monitors Program budget, contract requirements, and staffing to ensure that Agency resources are utilized in a cost-effective manner.
- Ensures appropriate operation/maintenance of assigned Agency facility.
- Coordinates all necessary documentation, reports, and analyses for Executive Staff and/or Administration as required.
- Apprises the Executive Staff of any employment issues, and participates in investigations, grievances, or other labor issues as required.
- Apprises the Executive Staff of any critical incidents, and participates in investigations and corrective actions as required.
- Maintains professional aptitude in assigned Program functions.
- Develops and maintains an Agency presence in the local community.
- Identifies, evaluates, and pursues Agency-growth opportunities.
- Monitors existing Program and services to ensure that consumers’ needs are met.
- Recommends and develops new programs, or enhances existing programs as needed.
- Attends and participates in all regularly schedule management meetings and accurately and timely submits all required reports.
- Performs other Agency-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory:
- Directly supervises Program-related staff, ensuring contract compliance and staff efficiency.
- Aids in selecting and hiring Program staff in compliance with the Agency’s Employment Policies & Procedures and Standards of Conduct.
- Facilitates various staff meetings in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensures timely completion of Agency related orientation and trainings for all subordinates.
- Conducts general supervision of subordinates and administers appropriate disciplinary action when necessary, in compliance with the applicable contract requirements and/or Agency’s Employment Policies & Procedures and Standards of Conduct.
- Ensures that performance reviews of subordinates are completed fairly and accurately and in compliance with the Agency’s Employment Policies & Procedures and Standards of Conduct.
- Performs other Agency-related duties as assigned.
Pay: $77,000.00 - $84,250.00 per year
