Position: Full Time | Swing Shift 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Midnight) | Thursday - Monday

Objective: Responsible for the observation of the clients, security of building, and the efficient operation of IH in accordance with the Agency’s policies during the evening hours.
Qualifications/Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED required. Preferred two (2) years of experience in addiction field or residential housing.
- Needs strong interpersonal communication, empathetic, organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Must be detail oriented and maintain strict ethical and professional boundaries, willingness to work in a change-based environment, use independent critical thinking and be self-directed with little supervision needed.
- Must have strong writing and grammar skills.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
Special Requirements:
- Must maintain valid driver’s license and be insurable by Agency insurance.
- Position requires physical activity such as stair climbing, bending, bending to lift and walking both indoors and outdoors.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an understanding of program policies and procedures for programs/contracts awarded to NHCC IH.
- Maintain strict ethical and confidential guidelines for NHCC, Inc. according to CFR part 2, HIPPA, ethical conduct and professional boundaries.
- Apply for and maintain Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor status
- Review log from the previous shift and make log entries based on monitoring and observation of clients, building maintenance needs, visitors and other issues which may arise during the shift.
- Log all decisions you make and your rationale.
- Meet with incoming and outgoing staff during every shift to review client issues, med cart procedures, visitor issues, staff information and all other pertinent information needed for the successful monitoring of the shift.
- Collect or return all information needed on shift to or from the day front office staff and the night staff.
- If approved by agency insurance to drive company vehicles, operate vehicles when client transport is needed and stay in compliance with all traffic regulations.
- Conduct complete rounds to check building security and perform rooms checks when first on shift and at least once per hour on a random basis for the remainder of the shift. Security checks should include both the interior and exterior of the building.
- Room checks should include all infant sleep spaces – there should be no blankets, toys, bottles, stuffed animals or pillows or padding of any kind inside of any infants sleep space. Babies should be asleep on a firm surface on only a tightly fitted sheet. They may be in a sleep sack or if they are not yet rolling they can be swaddled in a thin blanket. If any unsafe sleep situation is found CSS are to stay present until the baby is in a safe situation.
- If CSS see any hazards around the facility such as obstructions on or near stairs, in front of fire escapes, icy steps or pathways etc they are to address them immediately.
- Conduct and monitor client self-administration of medication after receiving training from medical coordinator.
- Monitor building visitors, professionals or guests and ensure that visitation procedures are followed.
- Check in, perform intake and its associated paperwork for clients arriving to treatment during shift hours.
- Assist with discharge and check out of clients leaving treatment during shift hours.
- Perform client and/or staff UAs and BAs as requested and receive training on UA and BA procedures.
- Maintain an understanding of the amount of client assistance CSS Staff can give to a client and when a client should be referred to their counselor.
- Maintain an understanding of and implement the client crisis procedures when necessary.
- Conduct a building fire drill at least 3 times per month (once per shift)
- During floor checks note any maintenance needs and fill out maintenance request form completely for any needs that are found.
- Answer IH phones and check voicemails regularly
- Complete basic cleaning needs such as dining room walk throughs, lobby and front office tidiness, staff bathroom and med room, child care laundry etc.
- Cross train for all CSS shifts
- Attend all staff meetings as all staff meetings are mandatory
- Any other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor or Program Coordinator

Pay: $21.50 - $23.00 per hour
