Schedule: 4 days per week (with one weekend day) | 6:00am–5:30pm | Full-Time Rate of Pay: Competitive, based on experience
About Our Community
Iris Memory Care is a small, freestanding memory care assisted living community conveniently located in N Oklahoma City. All of our residents live with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia, and as an age-in-place community, you’ll prepare meals for residents across the full spectrum of the disease.
What You’ll Do

Prepare and serve meals to residents within scheduled times, with attention to quality, presentation, and efficient service

Conducts inventory, purchasing, storing, and preparation of food according to the provided menus and regulations.

With the Executive Director, establishes departmental goals and objectives.

Plans and administers departmental budget, including staffing levels.

Maintain food quality, proper quantities, and sanitation throughout the kitchen

Keep the kitchen and food storage areas clean, organized, and safe

Know residents’ food needs and preferences, coordinating with care staff as needed

Follow established menus and adjust recipes with guidance from the consultant dietician to meet residents’ nutritional needs

Inspect food for quality, temperature, and appearance before serving; offer substitutions as needed

Maintain coolers, meal service records, and required documentation

Follow all local, state, and corporate health, sanitation, and infection control requirements

Report food service concerns or kitchen inspection issues, with a plan for correction

Help train team members on daily kitchen sanitation practices
What We’re Looking For

One to two years’ experience in a similar position preferred.

Supervisory experience in dealing with older adults and their food needs preferred.
- One to two years of similar food service experience preferred

Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

ServSafe certification, or ability to complete an approved course

Supervisory experience with older adults’ food needs preferred

Ability to prepare and serve a wide variety of foods skillfully

High school diploma/GED or equivalent preferred

Reliable attendance and ability to work with minimal supervision

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 35 lbs regularly, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stooping

Annual verification of a negative TB skin test

Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
