Overview
We are a fast-paced, patient-focused orthodontic office in Aurora, CO, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Orthodontic Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting orthodontists in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, particularly in orthodontics, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilizing instruments and managing supplies.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed for patient assessments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care specific to orthodontics.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and treatment plans accurately.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality care for pediatric patients.
- Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the clinic's systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy related to dentistry is essential.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding their significance in patient care.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques relevant to orthodontics is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, parents, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the field of orthodontics.
- Must travel between 2 offices.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 32–40 hours per week
- Pay Range: Competitive, $20–$26/hour, based on experience
- Location: Aurora, CO- Southlands and Gateway Park
