POSITION: Mechanical Design Engineer

What you will do:

Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for smart glasses and wearable devices using NX (Siemens)

Create detailed 2D drawings with proper GD&T callouts per ASME Y14.5 standards

Perform basic stress analysis (FEA) to validate designs and material selections

Build and assemble prototypes using hand tools and lab equipment

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, optical, firmware, and industrial design engineers

Support design reviews, tolerance stack-ups, and DFM/DFA evaluations

Troubleshoot mechanical issues during prototyping and testing phases

Document design decisions, test results, and lessons learned
Work Experience
What You Will Bring
-
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
-
Proficiency in NX (Siemens) CAD software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting

Working knowledge of GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5)

Basic understanding of electronics (PCBs, connectors, flex circuits, sensors)

Hands-on experience with hand tools, prototyping, and mechanical assembly

Exposure to stress analysis / FEA tools (NX Nastran, ANSYS, or similar)

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with miniaturized consumer electronics or wearable devices

Familiarity with materials commonly used in wearables (plastics, magnesium, titanium, adhesives)

Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques

Knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC machining, die casting)

Internship or project experience related to smart glasses, AR/VR headsets, or similar products
Pay Range: $100,000-$120,000
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements:
This role is considered an on-site position located in Sunnyvale, CA
You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
