Duties
- Thoroughly wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup to support chefs and cooks.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, sinks, and storage areas to uphold sanitation standards.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables in dining areas and transporting used dishware to the kitchen for cleaning.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers, sinks, and other small appliances.
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or equipment to ensure smooth kitchen operations while adhering to manual handling safety guidelines.
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards within a restaurant environment.
- Experience with food handling, food preparation, or related hospitality roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
