Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to uphold cleanliness standards throughout the facility
- Handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation procedures, ensuring proper storage and disposal in accordance with safety protocols
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools efficiently to maintain floors and surfaces
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices for moving furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed
- Maintain facilities by performing minor repairs and assisting with general maintenance tasks such as painting or replacing fixtures
- Follow safety procedures diligently during all custodial activities to prevent accidents or injuries
- Support janitorial operations by managing supplies inventory and ensuring cleaning supplies are stocked and organized
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or residential settings preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques, floor care, and the operation of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers
- Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards required for maintaining a safe environment
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs and painting is advantageous
- Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence, heavy lifting techniques, and manual handling practices
- Customer service skills to effectively interact with staff and visitors while maintaining a professional demeanor
