Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care by performing physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and comprehensive assessments to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following established protocols, including IV infusions and other specialized treatments.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection, laboratory processing, and medical imaging procedures.
- Manage patient documentation using electronic health record (EHR) system PCC, to ensure precise medical records and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support complex care needs including wound care, catheterization, tube feeding, ventilator management, and pain control strategies such as acute pain management and hospice care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless patient transitions.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching topics including medication management, dementia or Alzheimer's care, nutrition, and discharge planning when applicable.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR system PointClickCare (PCC)
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology.
- Experience in critical care environments including ICU or Level I/II trauma centers; familiarity with trauma protocols is highly valued.
- Skilled in performing procedures like phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile technique for specimen collection or catheter care.
- Capable of managing complex cases involving infectious disease care, respiratory support (ventilators), or emergency medicine scenarios such as airway management or spinal taps.
- Adept at working with diverse populations including geriatrics (memory care), individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized attention.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to maintain safety standards across all clinical activities.
