DIESEL TECHNICIAN – CLASS A (TRUCK & REFRIGERATED FLEET)

Cavalier Transportation, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tier 1 Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team. We are looking for a highly skilled technician who can accurately diagnose, repair, and overhaul diesel engines—not someone whose experience is limited to brakes and routine maintenance.
Our fleet consists primarily of Cummins-powered trucks, along with a few PACCAR engines and Carrier refrigerated trailers. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic abilities and be comfortable performing everything from preventative maintenance to complete engine overhauls.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engine, electrical, and mechanical issues
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled services
- Troubleshoot and repair engine, fuel, cooling, air, and aftertreatment systems
- Perform in-frame and complete engine overhauls
- Diagnose and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems on Carrier reefer units
- Perform annual DOT inspections
- Repair truck and trailer components as needed
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cummins INSITE diagnostic software
- Familiarity with Davie's 4 (PACCAR diagnostic software)
- Proven experience performing diesel engine overhauls
- Strong electrical and electronic diagnostic skills
- Experience working on Cummins and PACCAR engines
- Carrier refrigeration unit experience preferred
- Class A CDL is a plus
- Diesel certifications are a plus
- Must supply personal hand tools
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
