Carpentry Concepts is looking to hire self-motivated and reliable carpenters to add to our team! Our scope of work is 95% commercial with very consistent inflow of new work to allow for plenty of hours each week, year-round. We pride ourselves on consistently providing quality carpentry services across the Metro Detroit Area.
Available Positions:
- 1 Journeyman-level position
- 2 Laborer/Apprentice-level positions
- *Experience is always beneficial, but we are willing to train someone who has the right attitude and willingness to learn!
- Pay will be determined based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Steel and wood framing
- Drywall
- Hang doors and install various hardware
- Demo, restore, or repair damaged structures
- Various tasks that fall into “General Trades” categories
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with building codes and regulations
Skills:
- Proficient in carpentry techniques and practices (ability to read tape measure and understand basic construction terminology).
- Ability to read blueprints and follow technical drawings
- Knowledge of different types of woods and their uses
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to accurately measure and cut materials to precise specifications
- Familiarity with plumbing and electrical systems is a plus*
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting (~ 40 lbs.) and prolonged standing
- Ability to follow a jobsite chain of command appropriately.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Punctual and respectful of company time.
- Clean cut, professional appearance.
- Hard working, able bodied.
- Highly knowledgeable of industry safety requirements and proper jobsite cleanliness.
Requirements:
- The candidate must provide their own reliable vehicle for transportation to and from jobsites within a 40-mile radius of Livonia, Michigan.
- Provide at minimum the basic set of hand tools in the company checklist
- The candidate must be able to pass a customer-required background check.
Schedule Specifications:
- Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm
- 15-minute lunch at 9:30am
- 30-minute unpaid lunch at 12:00pm
- Pay is provided weekly every Thursday (W-2)
- Paid holidays are offered for employees after 3 months of training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
