Evin at Oconomowoc is an 80-unit senior living community offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our culinary team and help create an exceptional dining experience for our residents.
Shift Schedule:
- Morning shifts: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Afternoon shifts: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- A combination of both shift types will be required.
Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals while ensuring resident satisfaction and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment. This position works closely with the Culinary Manager and oversees kitchen operations in their absence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of hot and cold meals.
- Accommodate special dietary requirements as needed.
- Assist the Culinary Manager with menu planning and special event preparation.
- Ensure safe food handling, sanitation, and hygiene standards are consistently followed.
- Collaborate with dining staff to meet residents' needs and ensure efficient meal service.
- Help dining staff understand menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs.
- Promote resident satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and interacting with residents.
- Support team members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to communicate effectively with and respect the needs of seniors.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
