Company | E.Z. Orchards was founded by Edward Zielinski in 1929. The Farm Market has been open in its current location since 1992, and is still family-owned and operated. Much of our produce is sourced from local growers here in the Willamette Valley or from our own orchards, and we take pride in having fresh, high-quality produce available all year. Our HarvestFest is held every fall, and our pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides, and donuts are a big hit that time of year. Part of our mission is to educate the community about Oregon agriculture and what it takes to put food on the table. We highly value the relationship we have with local farms & producers, and are happy to help get their product in the hands of our community.
Position Description & Requirements | The Office Manager exists as the administrative arm of our management team. The role covers a broad range of tasks that keep the office, team, and market running smoothly. Collaboration is a key element of our team’s function, and the Office Manager will work closely with Co-Managers and the Owner over the course of any given day. The Office Manager is also cross trained like all our other employees on all tasks in the store. So, that they can step in to help in busy times and know the solution to a task when it comes up.
Tasks:
- Manage Store Email Inbox & Donation Requests
- Facilitate Spring & Fall Hiring Processes
- Seasonal Scheduling (Music Performances, Field Trips, Dinner Events, Etc.)
- POS System Management
- Team Management & Monthly Team Schedule
- Various HR & Recordkeeping Functions
- Daily Task Assignments
- Various Compliance-related Tasks (Water Safety, Minor Work Permit, Etc.)
- General Management Tasks (Opening/Closing, Cash Management, Customer Service, Problem Solving.)
- Assisting other managers with paperwork assignment (creating customer signs, entering new items into the POS system, writing up instructions/directions.)
Applicants must:
- Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills (experience preferred).
- Be enrolled in or have graduated from a program in Business, Management, Agriculture, or another related field.
- Be open to a commitment of multiple years in the role.
- Be confident addressing people of all ages – both team members and customers.
- Demonstrate organization and time-management skills.
- Possess a high level of integrity and discernment.
- Be willing to continue to learn & adapt to the developing needs of the business.
- Value teamwork and be willing to invest in the success of our entire team.
- Have account payable & accounts receivable history. With experience in Quickbooks, and proficieny in Microsoft Excel is required.
Compensation | Compensation rates for this role are dependent upon experience. This position entails 45-50 hours per week and is paid on an hourly basis. The beginning range of compensation is between $39,500 and $43,500 per year, depending on hours worked. There is an opportunity for overtime, especially during our harvest season. Because wages are paid hourly and Oregon is an at-will state, these statements are not to be a guarantee of compensation. Figures are provided for estimation purposes only.
