The Opportunity
We are actively seeking Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible Pediatric Anesthesiologists for a full-time locum tenens assignment located in Dayton, Ohio. This opportunity offers the chance to join a highly respected pediatric anesthesia team providing care across a wide range of pediatric and adult surgical specialties.
Schedule & Logistics
- Dates of Need: November 1, 2026 – February 28, 2027 and November 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027, with potential extension through October 2027
- Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Coverage Requirements: Full-time coverage
- Call Requirements: No call required
- Reason for Coverage: FMLA coverage
Clinical Scope & Facility Details
- Practice Setting: Hospital-Based Operating Rooms
- Patient Volume: Approximately 50-60 surgical cases per day
- Patient Demographics: Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, and Adult patients
- Support Staff: Collegial team of RNs, Surgical Technologists, PCAs, Surgeons, Proceduralists, and APPs
- Anesthesia Team: 22 Anesthesiologists
- Operating Rooms: 14 ORs
- Trauma Designation: ACS Level I Trauma Center
- Annual ER Volume: 70,000 visits
- CRNA Supervision: Yes. Physicians will work in a combination of independent practice and supervision of CRNAs within a care team model.
- Anesthesia Cart Preparation: Not required

- General Surgical Cases – Neonatal
- General Surgical Cases – Pediatric
- General Surgical Cases – Adult
- Thoracic Cases (excluding Open Heart)
- Complex Orthopedic Cases
- Neurosurgical Cases
- Ventilation Management
Preferred Skills
- Provide pediatric anesthesia services to all subspecialties except cardiac surgery and transplant surgery
- Insertion of Arterial Lines
- Evaluation and Management of Acute Volume and Blood Pressure Issues
Acuity/Protocol Notes
- Broad pediatric anesthesia practice covering multiple surgical subspecialties
- No cardiac surgery or transplant surgery coverage required
Required Qualifications
- Board Status: Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Pediatric Anesthesiology
- Fellowship Training: Completion of a Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship required
- Licensure: Active Ohio Medical License required (IMLC not accepted)
- Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Additional Requirements:
- Maiden name must be provided during name clear
- Clean background required
- No malpractice history preferred
- Must meet rate requirements
- Fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon acceptance to avoid credentialing delays

- Rate: Competitive market rate based on experience and availability
