Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, and previous experience in a new car dealership service department is a plus. This role involves diagnosing complex issues, performing repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality workmanship. Candidates familiar with diesel engines, and computer controlled engine management systems are highly preferred. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other vehicle components.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including powertrain, alignment, diesel engines, and electrical systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Service vehicles by replacing or repairing parts such as transmissions, powertrain components, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical wiring.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex problems effectively.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies including Chrysler vehicle systems and diesel engine repair techniques.
Skills
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, transmissions, powertrain components, and diesel engines.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics software and schematics interpretation.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Familiarity with Chrysler vehicles is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with mechanical aptitude to diagnose issues efficiently. This position offers a dynamic work environment where technical skill development is encouraged with paid training provided.
