Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to verify cleanliness, safety, and compliance with hotel standards.
- Identify areas requiring cleaning or maintenance attention and communicate effectively with housekeeping staff for prompt resolution.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of chemical agents used for cleaning, following safety data sheets (SDS) and chemical handling procedures.
- Monitor the use of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and other janitorial tools to guarantee proper operation and safety.
- Enforce sanitation protocols, including floor care, vacuuming, and general custodial practices to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Train and motivate housekeeping staff on hotel housekeeping management procedures, safety guidelines, and emergency protocols.
- Document inspection results, report deficiencies or hazards promptly, and maintain detailed records of cleanliness standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial experience within hospitality environments.
- Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, chemical agent handling, sanitation practices, and cleaning equipment operation.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during inspections.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach towards guests and team members alike.
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures, safety data sheets (SDS), and chemical handling regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct janitorial inspections with attention to detail while maintaining efficiency under pressure.
- Prior experience in hotel experience or hospitality industry roles is highly desirable.
