I. Summary:
Life Science Products, Inc. (LSP), an employee-owned company, has been providing interior Wall, Floor, Ceiling, Door and Wall Protection products to the Medical Science and Technology Research Field for over 40 years. Our proven solutions are used by the most highly respected Government, Private and Public Medical Research Institutions in the U.S. and Canada. LSP also offers a full range of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for lab research personnel. We are seeking a dedicated team member to join our accounting department. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role provides critical operational support by managing the purchasing and order functions for our office, finished goods, and construction divisions. The ideal candidate will monitor stock levels, collaborate closely with suppliers, and manage purchase requisitions while handling supply chain logistics and cost controls. II. Duties and Responsibilities:
· Generate and send purchase orders out to vendors upon request and as needed while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
· Source new items and/or vendors as needed. Completes all new vendor paperwork.
· Tracks the status of orders and deal with any errors or issues. Update customer service or project managers of shipment delays.
· Ensures credit or replacement of items as required.
· Build relationship with suppliers and negotiate with them for best pricing.
· Deal with non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods.
· Send material packing slips to the warehouse for project managers.
· Reviews and enters all invoices into Accounts Payable for payment in a timely and accurate manner.
· Create and maintain all inventory items, costs and list prices in ERP system as well as any pricing Excel sheets.
· Assists in data entry and processing for international shipments and imports, as directed.
· Keep inventory items up to date – vendors list all if they have multiple, part #’s for each vendor, prices, lead times and descriptions.
· Overseas container purchasing and tracking – requesting deposits and balance payments.
· Other duties as assigned.
III. Skilled Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Strong math, reading, and writing skills required.
· Strong attention to details and the ability to multi-task and manage time is required.
· Strong communication skills are key, the ability to effectively communicate on phone and through email are required.
· Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
· Ability to operate independently and with a team in an office atmosphere.
· Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to problem solve.
IV. Work Hours and Traveling:
Travel is not normally expected with this position. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (30 minute lunch). Work is in a general office atmosphere.
