The Head Lacrosse Coach position will be responsible for the recruitment, retention, academic and personal development of the student-athletes. The Head Coach will also be responsible for the physical training and skill development of the student- athletes. The Coach is expected to have knowledge of and abide by the philosophy, rules and regulations of Pace University, the NE-10 Conference and the NCAA.
Position Duties

Manage game and practice coaching responsibilities for the Men's Lacrosse program.

Assume responsibility for the recruiting of student-athletes who have the potential for meeting the University standards for admission and to be successful member of the Men's Lacrosse Program.

Responsibility for the academic credibility of student-athletes recruited to the University to play Men's Lacrosse. With regard to this responsibility, such matters as class attendance, progress towards a degree and graduation rates will be considered important as will the retention rate of student-athletes recruited to the University to play Men's Lacrosse. The NCAA APR process is the measuring tool for monitoring progress towards a degree and retention of student-athletes.

Understanding and having a working knowledge of and abiding by applicable policies and regulations of Pace University, the Northeast 10 Conference, and the NCAA, it being understood that your failure to comply with such rules and regulations may result in disciplinary action taken against you by the Northeast 10, or by the NCAA or by Pace University.

Promoting the University generally and the Men's Lacrosse program specifically by maintaining a high profile with the constituencies important to fund raising, promotions, and public relations. This consists of being available to speak to groups who have potential to support the University, assisting fund raising visits and presentations whenever possible and representing the University in a manner that projects sportsmanship, class and integrity at all times. On and off field behavior is considered extremely important in this regard.

Working closely with the Business Manager to monitor expenditures for Men's Lacrosse so as to stay within University budget guidelines as well as Conference and NCAA rules, the ordering of supplies and services needed to operate a Division II Lacrosse program and responsible for arranging team transportation, housing and meals.

Works with vendors to purchase necessary equipment.

Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, this position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs are individuals at the University who, because of their function at the University, have an obligation under the Clery Act to notify the University of alleged Clery Crimes that are reported to them in good faith, or alleged Clery Crimes that they may personally witness. CSAs will be required to complete training with respect to the Clery Act and the responsibilities of a CSA.

Supervises Student-Athletes, Student Managers and Assistant Coaches.
Position Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; previous playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level.

Candidates must demonstrate potential to teach, lead, and counsel college student-athletes.
Work Hours
Hours will vary based on game and practice schedule; 35 hours per week with additional hours as needed.
