Residential Service Technician – Electrical & Plumbing

Bolt and Timber Construction LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Residential Service Technician to join our growing team. This position will primarily focus on residential electrical and plumbing work, with secondary responsibilities involving light carpentry and general construction completion work.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting problems, and completing quality work without needing constant supervision. The right candidate will be well-rounded, take pride in their work, and be willing to handle a variety of tasks from day to day.
Primary Responsibilities
Electrical
- Residential electrical installation and repair
- New construction electrical work
- Remodel electrical work
- Troubleshooting electrical problems
- Installing/replacing receptacles, switches, lighting, fixtures, and other residential electrical components
- Completing electrical punch-list and service work
Plumbing
- Residential plumbing installation and repair
- New construction plumbing
- Remodel plumbing work
- Troubleshooting leaks and plumbing issues
- Installing and replacing faucets, toilets, sinks, disposals, water heaters, fixtures, and related components
- Completing plumbing punch-list and service work
Secondary Responsibilities
When electrical or plumbing work is not required, this position will assist with light carpentry and general new-construction completion tasks, including:
- Installing trim, hardware, shelving, and miscellaneous finishes
- Door and cabinet adjustments
- Minor drywall/paint touch-ups
- Caulking and finishing work
- Punch-list repairs
- Light carpentry
- General jobsite completion work
- Helping prepare newly constructed homes for final walkthrough and turnover
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Has hands-on residential electrical and plumbing experience
- Can troubleshoot and solve problems in the field
- Is comfortable working on both new construction and existing homes
- Can work independently and manage assigned service calls/tasks
- Has a good understanding of residential construction
- Takes pride in clean, professional workmanship
- Is dependable and shows up on time
- Communicates well with homeowners, contractors, and other employees
- Is willing to perform tasks outside of electrical and plumbing when needed
- Has reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Has their own basic hand tools
Position Overview
This is not strictly an electrical or plumbing position. The majority of the work will center around those two trades, but we are looking for a well-rounded residential service technician who can help take projects from construction through final completion.
Work will range from new installations and remodels to troubleshooting, repairs, service calls, and new-construction punch work.
We are looking for someone who wants a long-term position with a growing company and an opportunity to take on additional responsibility as we continue to expand.
Experience: Residential electrical/plumbing experience strongly preferred.
Schedule: Full-time
Work Type: Primarily residential new construction, remodeling, repair, and service work.
Location: Southeast Tennessee
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
