New patient Scheduler Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized New patient Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating appointments, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately processed and communicated. This position requires attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Schedule new patient consultations.
- DETAILED review of medical records to ensure we have the most complete data in patients chart prior to their arrival.
- Verify insurance information and ensure pre-authorization for office visits as required.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in electronic health record systems such as eClinical Works.
- Collaborate with the office management team to streamline processes and improve patient experiences.
- Provide bilingual support to patients when applicable, enhancing communication for non-English speaking individuals.
- Maintaining spreadsheet with accurate new patient data for admin reporting.
- Heavy phone lines. Must be able to handle busy phones.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an administrative role within a healthcare setting, preferably in a surgical office. **MUST HAVE 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN A MEDICAL OFFICE**
- Detailed knowledge of medical conditions and associated treatments.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical coding practices.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual Spanish candidates ONLY are encouraged to apply.
- Attention to detail is essential for maintaining accurate records and schedules.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
