What You'll Do
As a Dental Assistant, you will play an essential role in delivering quality patient care and ensuring the clinical team operates efficiently.
Your responsibilities include:
- Prepare treatment rooms before each patient appointment.
- Assist the doctor during restorative, cosmetic, implant, oral surgery, periodontal, endodontic, prosthodontic, and emergency procedures.
- Take digital X-rays and intraoral photographs.
- Take impressions, fabricate temporary crowns, and assist with laboratory procedures when needed.
- Prepare instruments, materials, and equipment for dental procedures.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Provide patients with pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
- Accurately document treatment notes and maintain patient records.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked operatories.
- Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs.
- Help create a positive, welcoming experience for every patient.
- Support the clinical team with additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred.
- Current Florida Dental Assistant certification.
- Current Florida Dental Radiology (X-Ray) certification.
- Knowledge of OSHA, CDC, and infection control standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
- Experience assisting with:
- Dental implants
- Crown and bridge procedures
- Oral surgery
- Periodontal procedures
- Removable prosthetics
- Endodontic procedures
