Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caregiving and a passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, as well as experience in acute care settings. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality care while ensuring the dignity and respect of all patients.
Duties
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Implement care plans tailored to the specific needs of patients, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and hospice care teams, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Conduct routine assessments of patient health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical staff.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to health and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Must have active CMT license on Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Must have Maryland state driving license.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and privacy.
- A compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality caregiving services.
- Relevant certifications or training in caregiving or healthcare fields are beneficial.
