Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Substitue Preschool Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves developing engaging curricula, planning lessons, and implementing effective teaching strategies that cater to the diverse needs of preschool-aged children.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that promote literacy, math, and overall childhood development.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages learning through play and exploration.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere for all students.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and share best practices in teaching methodologies.
- Provide individualized support to students, including those with special needs, to foster their growth and development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments in line with educational standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational trends and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool or childcare setting.
- Strong skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experienced in STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math)
- Meets DCYF qualifications for a Lead Teacher (we may be able to help with this if needed)

Work hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:15 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
