Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Couture Seamstress/Pattern Maker to join our Los Angeles Studio.
We're looking for someone with strong professional experience in bridal, eveningwear, couture, and custom garment construction who is capable of taking a garment from initial pattern through final construction and finishing.
The ideal candidate must have advanced skills in pattern-making, cutting, garment construction, fitting, as well as extensive experience working with delicate fabrics.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify patterns from measurements, sketches, reference garments or design direction.
- Develop garments from initial patter through final construction and finishing.
- Conduct professional fittings, identify fit and construction issues, and make the necessary patter and garment corrections.
- Construct and alter bridal gowns, evening gowns, custom garments
- Use knowledge of fabric materials to select appropriate stitches, threads, and techniques suited for different textiles.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to safety standards related to press machines and sewing equipment.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
- Professional bridal and eveningwear experience required.
- Pattern-making and fitting experience required.
- Extensive experience working with silk, chiffon, and other luxury fabrics.
- Excellent machine-sewing and hand sewing skills.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
