American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a CV Surgery ICU position in Rochester, MN, requiring at least 2 years of acute care ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Highly specialized adult cardiac surgery and heart/lung transplant ICU providing advanced postoperative management of care
-
13-week contract, 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
-
Day/Night rotation (7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with straight nights also available (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)

Every 3rd weekend required

Floating required as needed
-
On-site only; no telework

Charting performed in Epic

Active MN RN license required; no pending licenses accepted

Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS (AHA or American Red Cross); certifications must not expire within 3 months of start date

Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience required
-
1 year of prior travel nursing experience required, or a minimum of 3 completed travel assignments

Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited); if not accredited, at least 1 year of RN experience in an applicable setting within the last 5 years is required

CVS ICU experience preferred

Experience with VADs, Impella, ECMO, and balloon pumps preferred

CCRN certification preferred

Epic EMR experience preferred

COVID vaccination and booster required

Date of birth required for consideration

Responsible for coordination of nursing care including direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions

Functions within a professional nursing practice model encompassing planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of patient care

May serve in preceptor and informal leadership roles and contribute to quality improvement efforts
-
Delegates patient care appropriately based on skill level, acuity, and available resources
-
Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts due to low census over the course of the 13-week assignment
-
Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a break is required before returning to a new assignment
-
First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to the travel experience requirement
