School Bus Driver – Part-Time / On-Call (Independent Contractor)
Location: Gaithersburg, MD (Administrative Office)
Vehicle Location: Most buses are parked throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.
Position Overview
We are seeking mature, responsible, and safety-focused School Bus Drivers to join our team as Independent Contractors for summer and year-round transportation services. This is a part-time, on-call position ideal for experienced drivers seeking flexible work opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport students, campers, and groups to and from designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and attitude.
- Ensure passengers are transported safely and on schedule.
- Complete required trip documentation and reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations staff.
- Be available for assigned trips, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Valid CDL Class B (or higher) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.Clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and DOT requirements.Mature, dependable, and professional demeanor.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and available for on-call assignments.Previous school bus or commercial driving experience preferred.
Compensation
- Independent Contractor Position (1099)
