Overview
Rochester Pain Solution, an interventional pain clinic located at 300 Meridian Centre Boulevard in Brighton, is seeking a full-time experienced Medical Administrative Assistant/Medical Assistant to join our administrative team. Must have excellent interpersonal communication (written and oral) skills, be able to prioritize and multitask, and be able to work in a team-oriented office environment.
Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support such as answering telephones, assisting patients checking in and out, and making follow-up appointments.
- Answers telephone calls and directs calls to the appropriate person; takes messages as needed.
- Schedules procedures, including patient instruction for preparation, if necessary.
- Prepares patients' medical records; utilizes all aspects of electronic medical records.
- Processes referrals and prior authorizations daily, including documentation.
- Monitors reception area and patient flow, notifies patients of delays.
- Assists with sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail and faxes.
- May schedule specialist appointments including laboratory and radiology appointments as appropriate.
- May assist with incoming medical record requests and new patient referrals
- May assist with rooming, taking vitals, and updating patient medical history
- Sets up and operates various office equipment, i.e., computer, copier, fax machine.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Skills
- EMR (eClinicalWorks a plus), MS Office experience and typing skills (45 wpm), HIPAA and PHI knowledge, second language a plus, basic insurance knowledge required.
- Preferred Education: AA in a related field, or Certified Medical Office Secretary Program, or equivalent medical training or medical office experience.
- Preferred Experience: Prefer 2 to 3 years of secretarial experience in a medical office.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
