We’re working with a growing infrastructure-focused engineering firm looking to add a Structural Engineer with bridge and transportation experience to their team.
This role is centered on DOT-driven projects — including new bridge design, rehabilitation, and related highway structures. It’s a strong fit for someone who has been working under NJDOT / NYSDOT standards and wants steady exposure to public infrastructure work without being buried in a massive corporate environment.
- Perform structural analysis and design for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and transportation structures
- Prepare calculations, plans, and specifications for DOT/public agency projects
- Develop plan sets using MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD, and/or Revit
- Coordinate with civil/highway teams to align structural and roadway design
- Support or lead submissions to NJDOT, NYSDOT, and other agencies
- Perform load ratings and rehabilitation design per AASHTO/DOT standards
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction
- Participate in site visits and coordination meetings as needed
- Bridge replacements and new bridge design
- Bridge rehabilitation and upgrades
- Culvert and retaining wall design
- Structural components tied to roadway/highway improvements
- DOT corridor and infrastructure projects
- Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering
- ~5–10 years of experience in bridge / transportation structural design
- Experience working with NJDOT, NYSDOT, or similar agencies
- Strong understanding of AASHTO and DOT design standards
- Proficiency with structural analysis tools (STAAD, SAP2000, LARSA, etc.)
- Familiarity with MicroStation / InRoads strongly preferred
- EIT required; PE preferred or in progress
