About the Role:
We're looking to add an Accountant / Controller to our growing team to oversee the financial operations of the dealership. This role will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, and cash flow oversight, while also helping build out stronger financial processes as we scale. You'll work closely with ownership to keep the business financially healthy and compliant, and to provide the reporting and insight needed to make good decisions about growth, staffing, and inventory investment.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants ownership over the financial function of a growing, hands-on business — not just a back-office bookkeeping role, but a seat close to the decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly
- Process payroll and ensure timely, accurate employee compensation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Track and report on home sales, cost of goods sold, and gross margins by unit
- Manage vendor and manufacturer invoicing, floor plan financing, and related payables
- Oversee inventory accounting for homes in transit, on lot, and under construction
- Support budgeting and cash flow forecasting
- Ensure compliance with state and federal tax filings, sales tax, and other regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with outside CPA/tax preparer for year-end filings
- Maintain internal controls and recommend process improvements as the company grows
- Provide financial reporting and analysis to ownership to support business decisions
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or controller-level roles (required)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software (required)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general financial reporting principles
- Experience with payroll processing
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Comfortable working in a small business/dealership environment where responsibilities may be broad
Preferred (not required):
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in construction, homebuilding, real estate, or dealership accounting
- Familiarity with inventory/floor plan financing accounting
- CPA or progress toward CPA
Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
