Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. Drivers are paid daily and average between 1300 to 1500 a week and owner operators average 2500 and up.
Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a truck, including flatbed and refrigerated trailers, to transport freight to designated locations.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries and minimize delays.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while driving and handling freight.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid truck driver’s license (CDL).
- Strong knowledge of route driving techniques and navigation skills.
- Experience and familiar knowledge of the Port of Virginia
- No touch Freight .
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate delivery logs and vehicle inspections.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with dispatchers and customers.
