⚠THE RAW TRUTH: WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED (Other Carriers Won't Tell You This)
100% freedom isn't free. If you lease onto VanHaulers Co., you are running a real business, and businesses require infrastructure. To succeed out here on the road, you MUST have these five pillars in order:
- A Well-Thought-Out Contingency Plan: What happens when you break down in the middle of Montana at 3:00 AM? You need a towing and backup plan.
- A Vehicle Warranty of Some Type: Sprinters and Transits are expensive to repair. An active warranty is your shield.
- Three Months of Expenses: You must have a financial runway to cover food, fuel, and personal bills during slow seasonal freight shifts.
- An Active Line of Credit: Access to capital for emergency roadside repairs, tire blowouts, or hotel stays.
- Automotive Repair Background or a Trusted Personal Mechanic: If you don't know how to turn a wrench or don't have a reliable, affordable mechanic on speed-dial, repair shops will bleed your margins dry.
There is a price you have to pay for 100% freedom, and do not let anyone tell you otherwise. But if you have these assets ready to deploy, we think VanHaulers Co. will be a good fit for you.
What We Need from You:
- Your Mobile Base: High-roof cargo van, Sprinter, Transit, or ProMaster (2020 or newer preferred, in clean and professional condition).
- Driver Standards: A standard Class D driver's license (No CDL required!) with a clean 3-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Vetting Credentials: DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Medical Card) preferred, but optional for cargo vans under 10,010 lbs GVWR. Note that lacking this may limit access to certain premium broker networks.
- Cargo Gear: Minimum of four (4) heavy-duty commercial ratchet straps, OR cargo load bars, strapping systems, or cargo netting (E-track systems or heavy-duty anchor D-rings are highly recommended). Note: Lacking these securements restricts your dispatch strictly to small boxed cargo that doesn't require strapping, limiting available load count.
- Tax Setup: An active business entity (LLC, S-Corp, or Sole Proprietorship) with an EIN and completed W-9.
- Tools: A smartphone for tracking, dispatch communication, and document uploads.
