Position: Methadone Dosing Nurse

Full-time, on-site, 6:00 am-2:30 pm M-F; 7am- 12:30pm.
What You’ll Do:
Charm City Medical Center is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Methadone Dosing Nurse to join our substance use treatment team. This role is responsible for the safe and accurate administration of methadone and other medication-assisted treatments (MAT) under established protocols and guidelines. The nurse ensures proper documentation, compliance with regulatory standards, and provides patient education and support in a non-judgmental, recovery-oriented environment.
- Accurately dispense methadone & suboxone to clients as per physician orders and clinic policies
- Monitor and assess clients before and after dosing for any adverse reaction ot health concerns
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in medical records, including dosage, patient response, and incident reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Observe and uphold chain of custody and controlled substance handling protocols
- Provide basic health education related to substance use recovery, medication adherence, and harm reduction strategies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate effectively with clinical, counseling, and administrative staff
- Assist in managing inventory of controlled substances and ensure accurate logs and reconciliations
- Respond to medical emergencies and administer basic first aid or CPR as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and confidential clinical environment
Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of addiction medicine and medication-assisted treatment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and nonjudgmental, compassionate attitude towards clients
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR0 and standard clinical documentation
- Ability to work early morning, weekend, and holidays as needed
Certifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Maryland with active, unencumbered licensed
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or a similar clinical setting
- Prior experience in methadone maintenance treatment or opioid treatment programs (OTP) preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding trauma-informed care in preferred
Pay Range: $28-$33 per hour, depending on experience, certification, etc.
