Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated person to join our team to make drinks, bagels and other food items. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As Cafe Associate, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, serving high-quality food items, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests while demonstrating your knowledge of coffee and food service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks with precision and care.
- Prepare food items, including breakfast sandwiches, bagels, charcuterie boards and other small bites.
- Operate cash registers and POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, including equipment, utensils, bathroom, and seating areas.
- Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering questions about menu items.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Engage with customers to create a friendly atmosphere, fostering repeat business through excellent service.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, specifically coffee shops as a barista, or retail is preferred; some training will be provided.
- Basic math skills are essential for handling cash register operations and providing accurate change to customers.
- Familiarity with coffee preparation methods is a plus; enthusiasm for learning about coffee is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others are crucial for success in this role.
