Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Supervisor for the second shift to oversee daily warehouse operations within a dynamic distribution environment. This leadership role is vital in ensuring efficient inventory management, safety compliance, and smooth logistics processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong team management skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management systems. You will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of productivity, safety, and process improvement to support our company's growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities during the second shift, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling.
- Lead and motivate warehouse staff to achieve operational goals while fostering a safe and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee the operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Monitor inventory levels using warehouse management systems and RF scanners; ensure accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Implement process improvements to optimize workflow efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall warehouse performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards related to warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate shipments, deliveries, and distribution center activities.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, shipping/receiving documentation, and equipment maintenance.
- Manage team schedules, provide managerial communication, and conduct performance evaluations to support staff development.
- Assist in training new employees on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar warehouse management role within a distribution center environment.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, inventory control systems, and logistics operations.
- Hands-on experience operating forklift trucks and other heavy material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and RF scanner technology.
- Strong understanding of lean management principles and process improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively through team leadership and managerial communication skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety practices.
- Prior experience with shipping & receiving procedures, materials handling, and heavy lifting tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and documentation.
