EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position focuses on maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. The work supports transportation needs throughout the county and contributes directly to public safety. As a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:

Vehicle Repair: Perform repairs and overhauls on cars, trucks, tractors, and construction equipment

Preventative Maintenance: Carry out scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, tune-ups, and system adjustments

State Inspections: Conduct official state safety and emissions inspections and complete required documentation

Equipment Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and procedures to identify problems and determine repair methods

Work Area Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following safety procedures and reporting hazards

Field Adjustments: Make routine adjustments and minor repairs to keep equipment operating safely in the field

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM, or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. (Shift will be determined by seniority)

May require travel, overtime, and dual shifts. Work hours may vary during winter season.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $55,492 (before taxes).
