About Next Robot
Next Robot is building the next generation of commercial kitchen automation.
Next Robot is expanding rapidly across the United States, with approximately 600% year-over-year growth.
The company has built a leading position in North America, with an estimated 90% share of the commercial robotic cooking market. This momentum reflects strong customer demand, successful deployments, and increasing adoption of kitchen automation across restaurants and institutional foodservice.
Our flagship product, Robby One, is a commercial robotic cooking system designed to help restaurants and foodservice operators improve kitchen efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
Our customers include restaurants, restaurant groups, schools, hospitals, universities, institutional foodservice operators, and other large-scale commercial kitchens.
About the Role
We are looking for a Restaurant Implementation Coordinator to coordinate the rollout of Robby One and help customers adopt, operate, and gain lasting value from the system.
At its core, the Restaurant Implementation Coordinator is a customer success role. The title reflects the day-to-day work - project coordination, on-site implementation, employee training, and persistent follow-through - while the outcome is customer success: restaurant teams can use Robby One confidently, consistently, and independently.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing position. You will work directly with restaurant owners, managers, chefs, and front-line employees; coordinate with internal Sales, Product, Engineering, Culinary, and Operations teams; and stay closely involved until each customer is successfully operating the robot in daily service.
Relevant backgrounds may include Project Coordinator, Operations Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Implementation Specialist, Executive or Administrative Assistant, Restaurant or Hospitality Supervisor, or other customer-facing operations roles.
You do not need to be a chef or have a culinary background. We care most about communication, patience, organization, ownership, and the ability to keep working a problem until the customer succeeds.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Implementation & Project Coordination
- Own and coordinate the customer implementation journey after purchase or lease, from preparation through training, go-live, and post-launch follow-up.
- Build clear implementation plans, schedules, checklists, and next steps for each customer location.
- Coordinate customer stakeholders and internal teams to keep installations, training, recipe setup, and launch activities on track.
- Maintain accurate records of training progress, open issues, owners, deadlines, and follow-up actions across multiple customer projects.
- Anticipate risks, surface blockers early, and drive issues to resolution rather than stopping after a handoff or message.
Training & Adoption
- Lead on-site onboarding and hands-on training for restaurant owners, managers, chefs, and back-of-house employees.
- Explain equipment operation and workflows in a simple, practical way that works for people with different experience levels and learning styles.
- Observe how each restaurant actually operates and help fit Robby One into its daily kitchen workflow.
- Repeat, reinforce, and adapt training when needed until the customer team can operate the system confidently and independently.
- Help create and improve practical training materials, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
Customer Success & Ongoing Support
- Build trusted working relationships with restaurant owners, managers, chefs, and foodservice teams.
- Monitor customer adoption and Robby One utilization, identify barriers to consistent use, and proactively help customers overcome them.
- Follow up persistently on operational or technical issues until the customer has a clear answer and workable outcome.
- Gather customer feedback and communicate it clearly to Sales, Product, Engineering, Culinary, and Operations teams.
- Support customer demonstrations, pilot programs, field deployments, and industry events when needed.
Recipe & Workflow Enablement
- Gather information about customer menus, recipes, kitchen workflows, and operational needs.
- Coordinate with culinary and technical team members on recipe setup, programming, cooking parameters, and workflow optimization.
- Help customers document and standardize repeatable operating procedures for robotic cooking.
- Develop enough product and kitchen knowledge to guide customers effectively; deep culinary expertise is not required.
What Success Looks Like
- New customer locations launch on schedule with clear ownership and minimal confusion.
- Restaurant employees can operate Robby One correctly, safely, and independently.
- Customers continue using the system after initial training and increase utilization over time.
- Customer questions and issues are followed through to a clear resolution.
- Customers trust Next Robot and can see measurable operational value from Robby One.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in project coordination, implementation, operations, training, administrative support, customer-facing operations, hospitality, retail, restaurant operations, or a related role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the patience to explain, demonstrate, and repeat as needed.
- Strong organization and follow-through; able to manage multiple customers, deadlines, and open issues without losing details.
- A practical, service-oriented problem solver who takes ownership and stays engaged until the customer has a workable outcome.
- Comfort working directly with business owners, managers, chefs, front-line employees, and internal technical teams.
- Ability to learn new equipment, software, and robotic automation systems quickly and teach them clearly to others.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities and customer needs may change.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Willingness to work on-site in Walnut, California, enter active commercial kitchen environments, travel occasionally, and align working hours with customer training and deployment schedules when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in customer implementation, customer success, customer training, field operations, project coordination, or operational support.
- Experience in restaurants, hospitality, retail, logistics, equipment deployment, or another front-line operating environment.
- Experience with commercial equipment, foodservice technology, robotics, hardware, or automation.
- Professional culinary, kitchen, or restaurant operations experience is helpful but not required.
- Experience with Asian cuisines is helpful but not required.
- Mandarin Chinese fluency is a strong plus.
- Strong interest in FoodTech and kitchen automation.
Compensation & Benefits
- $48,000-$72,000/year, based on experience.
- Full-time, on-site position.
- Opportunity to work with cutting-edge commercial robotics and FoodTech technology.
- Direct exposure to restaurant groups and institutional foodservice customers.
- Career growth opportunities in a rapidly growing FoodTech and robotics company.
