Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare patients for treatment by taking vital signs and reviewing medical history.
- Manage dental records and documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Operate and maintain dental equipment, including X-ray machines and 3D scanners.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as preparing materials for prosthodontics and endodontics.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Support front office operations as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft.
- Familiarity with dentistry practices and terminology.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment.
- Understanding of general dentistry principles, including anatomy knowledge and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with medical documentation, coding, and records management.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
