Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing Required, Doctorate Preferred. | Unrestricted License to Practice as a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the State of Indiana. | Up-to-date with all state and federal training requirements related to general prescribing, and prescribing both mental health and addiction treatment medications.
REQUIRED Experience: Must have experience prescribing mental health / psychiatric and addiction treatment medications and working with clients experiencing these difficulties.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner:
- Medically assess and support clients who are experiencing the disease of addiction or a substance use disorder.
- Medically assess and support clients who are experiencing mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety, past trauma, or emotional dysregulation.
- Ability to recognize and develop treatment and contingency plans for clients’ critical indicators such as suicidality, unsafe previous medication or substance use, multiple or complex medical diagnoses, etc.
- Accurately, ethically, and effectively prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications for both adolescent and adult clients as determined necessary.
- Medically assess and recommend support clients for general primary healthcare needs, wellness, and common illnesses.
- Ability to quickly identify problems and act to minimize the likelihood of adverse clinical outcomes for clients related to their prescriptions or other medical needs.
- Documenting and reviewing all prescribing and nursing related sessions and communications with clients promptly and accurately.
- Communicate effectively with other multi-disciplinary team members, clients, clinicians, parents or family members of clients, and external community partners.
- Display hospitality to guests and clients, exhibiting a willingness to create a meaningful and uniquely better experience for our clients.
- Maintain confidentiality for clients, families and the center by abiding by all HIPPA regulations; Follow all other applicable laws including 42 CFR Part 2.
- Exhibit commitment and dedication to practicing ethically and equitably.
- Learn and use company required software, such as Electronic Health/Medical Records.
- Provide clinical support to other team members as applicable.
- Know and follow the policies and procedures of The Willow Center.
- Display positivity and a willingness to encourage team morale.
- Ability to perform other assigned duties/tasks as may be needed.
Qualifications and Requirements of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner:
- Must have and maintain an unrestricted DEA.
- Previous credentialing by Medicaid and other Private Insurance Companies strongly preferred.
- Must have at least 2 years previous psychiatric prescribing experience.
- Must be comfortable and competent in working with individuals who have experienced complex mental, emotional, or relational trauma.
- Must have knowledge of and experience with addiction-related medication-assisted treatment.
- Must be committed to fostering a culture of recovery as clients start their recovery journey.
- Must be willing and able to work 2 evenings per week.
- Must be well organized, be flexible, be patient, and be willing to learn.
- Must participate in and contribute to a teamwork philosophy.
- Must be energetic, motivated, self-sufficient, creative, and reliable.
- Must complete and pass a full Indiana State Police criminal background check.
- Must possess basic First Aid and CPR certification, or be willing to get certified within 6 months of hire.
- Must be comfortable in a productive and efficient environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
