Accounting & Purchasing General Manager (Manufacturing)
This position is onsite in Mooresville, NC just north of Charlotte, North Carolina
IST Precision Inc., a growing engineering and automation company north of Charlotte, NC, is seeking a highly capable Accounting & Purchasing Manager to take ownership of our financial operations and procurement processes.
We operate as a lean, engineering-driven organization. This role requires a professional who is equally comfortable reconciling accounts at month-end and managing vendor purchasing workflows on a daily basis. As the company continues to scale, this position will be central to maintaining financial discipline and purchasing control at IST. Approximately 50% of this role focuses on accounting and financial management, with the remaining 50% dedicated to purchasing and vendor coordination.
This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented professional who can manage monthly financials, oversee purchasing activities, and support ERP implementation in collaboration with leadership. The position is responsible for financial accuracy, vendor management, purchasing discipline, and ongoing process improvement.
Position Overview
The Accounting & Purchasing Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations in SAGE 100 while also managing purchasing workflows, vendor relationships, and inventory-related financial controls. This individual will work directly with company leadership to improve financial clarity and operational discipline.

Financial Management Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle accounting in SAGE 100
- Lead monthly close process and account reconciliations
- Manage A/P, A/R, payroll coordination, and invoicing
- Maintain clean financial records and internal controls
- Support budgeting and financial reporting
- Maintain inventory and job cost accuracy
- Assist leadership with financial reporting insights
Purchasing & Procurement Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing of engineering BOM items and operational supplies
- Maintain purchase order tracking and vendor documentation
- Oversee receiving and reconciliation of goods with invoices
- Ensure purchasing aligns with project schedules and cost controls
- Improve purchasing controls and approval workflows
- Support ERP integration of purchasing processes
- ERP Implementation Support
- Assist leadership with ERP system rollout later this year
- Help define financial, purchasing, and inventory processes
- Ensure data integrity during migration
Additional Support
- Assist with onboarding documentation and HR administrative support (limited scope)
- Provide limited administrative support in a small team environment (e.g., travel coordination)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with inventory and job costing preferred.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks
- Experience managing purchasing or procurement processes.
- Experience performing monthly reconciliations and financial close.
- Strong Excel skills
- Highly organized and process-driven
- Comfortable working in a growing engineering/manufacturing environment
Position Details & Benefits

- Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000
