Position: Healthcare Interiors Practice Leader
Join an established leadership team. Strengthen a respected practice. Help shape its future.
Some careers ask you to manage projects. This one asks you to build relationships, develop people, and help lead a practice that has earned the trust of healthcare providers for decades. Identity Architects is seeking an accomplished leader to join our Healthcare Interiors practice.
This is a unique opportunity to partner with one of our firm's founding leaders and an experienced studio leadership team, helping guide an established practice while contributing your own perspective, expertise, and leadership.
We're looking for someone who leads with humility, builds lasting client relationships, develops high-performing teams, and embraces the tools and processes that move our industry forward. If you're energized by mentoring others, solving complex challenges, and creating meaningful impact through leadership, we'd love to start a conversation.
The Opportunity
Our Healthcare Interiors practice has been built through decades of trusted relationships, technical excellence, and a genuine commitment to serving our clients well.
As our practice continues to grow, we're expanding our leadership team.
This role is designed to work alongside our existing leadership, bringing additional strength in client service, studio leadership, technical excellence, and operational management. Together, you'll help guide an established team, mentor emerging professionals, strengthen client partnerships, and continue advancing one of the region's most respected healthcare interiors practices.
This is not a role built around a predetermined transition timeline. Instead, we're looking for a leader who values collaboration, enjoys learning from experienced professionals, and is excited to contribute their own ideas while helping the practice continue to evolve.
Leadership at Identity Architects is shared. We believe the strongest practices are built by leaders who respect what has been established while continually looking for better ways to serve clients, develop people, and improve how we deliver our work.
Your Leadership Will Include
- Providing leadership for an established Healthcare Interiors practice while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Mentoring and developing a talented team of interior designers and project professionals.
- Building trusted relationships with healthcare executives, physicians, administrators, and repeat clients through thoughtful leadership and exceptional service.
- Leading healthcare interior architecture and planning projects ranging from medical office buildings and specialty clinics to complex ambulatory and clinical environments.
- Guiding programming, space planning, interior architecture, consultant coordination, documentation, and construction administration.
- Managing studio financial performance, staffing, utilization, schedules, and project delivery to ensure successful outcomes for clients and the firm.
- Improving production workflows, technical standards, and project delivery by leveraging technology and continually refining studio processes.
- Collaborating with firm leadership to support strategic planning, operational excellence, and continued growth of the Healthcare Interiors practice.
- Supporting business development through relationship building, industry engagement, repeat clients, and strategic pursuits.
Who You Are
You're a leader first.
You believe exceptional client service begins with exceptional teams.
You know how to develop people, build trust, navigate complex projects, and create an environment where others can perform at their highest level.
You move comfortably between mentoring designers, meeting with healthcare executives, reviewing space plans, discussing project financials, and resolving project challenges.
You appreciate the personal relationships that have long defined our profession while embracing technology, innovation, and continuous improvement that strengthen project delivery.
Most importantly, you're someone who believes leadership is about serving others, earning trust, and creating an environment where both clients and teammates succeed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience leading healthcare interiors projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated success managing studio operations, project delivery, staffing, financial performance, and client relationships.
- Expertise in healthcare planning, clinical workflows, programming, interior architecture, and space planning.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare codes, regulations, and construction processes.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop design professionals.
- Experience managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional quality and client service.
- Existing healthcare relationships are valued; however, the ability to build lasting client partnerships and grow trusted relationships is even more important.
- Licensed Architect or NCIDQ certification preferred.
