Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status exams, and risk assessments to establish accurate diagnoses.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor treatment responses, and adjust plans as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services tailored to individual needs, utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or supportive therapy.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies to foster engagement and adherence.
- Document all clinical encounters accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research projects, and staff training sessions to advance best practices in psychiatric care.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings with exposure to diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for documentation and order entry.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management strategies for various psychiatric conditions.
- Strong assessment skills combined with the ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans aligned with NCQA standards.
- Experience working in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or community mental health programs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: $107,286.91 - $129,205.75 per year
