Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a worker’s compensation defense firm, but would allow a candidate to practice 50% in this area and 50% across their choice of a diverse range of legal areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and writing skills, demonstrate excellent negotiation abilities, and have a passion for delivering comprehensive legal solutions. As an Associate Attorney, you will play a vital role in providing strategic legal counsel, drafting legal documents, conducting research using platforms like LexisNexis and Westlaw, and supporting the firm’s commitment to client advocacy and legal excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research across multiple practice areas utilizing LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research tools to support case development and strategy.
- Draft clear and precise legal documents including pleadings, contracts, memoranda, and correspondence with attention to detail and adherence to firm standards.
- Assist in managing litigation cases by preparing discovery requests and responses, coordinating depositions, and supporting trial preparation efforts.
- Provide expert guidance on estate planning strategies, land use regulations, environmental compliance issues, and tribal laws as needed.
- Negotiate settlements and legal agreements on behalf of clients while maintaining a professional and proactive approach.
- Support clients through complex processes such as immigration procedures or workers’ compensation claims by offering comprehensive legal advice.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and firm policies.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdictions.
- Proven experience or strong interest in practicing workers’ compensation law or related fields.
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce well-structured legal drafts quickly and accurately.
- Strong oral advocacy, negotiation skills with a confident approach to representing clients.
- Prior experience of up to 5 years handling workers’ compensation matters is preferred, but not required.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
