Position Summary:
The Site Coordinator is both an operational leader and a relationship builder who forges partnerships that align community resources to benefit of Roosevelt Elementary School' students, families, and the neighborhood. The site coordinator is the primary Administrator for the 21st Century afterschool program, working closely with the Principal and the school’s Building Leadership team, engaging faculty, staff, students, and families to ensure curriculum and activities lead to student academic growth. Reaching out to the community, the site coordinator is the liaison for neighborhood residents, associations, non-profits, businesses, religious organizations, and other potential partners. The site coordinator forges partnerships to bring added resources such as supplies, programs, volunteers and comprehensive services into the afterschool and out-of-school programming. The site coordinator manages these to align the community’s resources for a greater collective impact.
Essential Functions
Program Leadership
- 21st Century Program Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of the 21st Century program, ensuring that programming, curriculum, staffing, and activities align with grant requirements and the academic goals of the school.
- Academic Programming & Curriculum: Work with the DPS Curriculum Coordinator, school leadership, teachers, and program staff to implement BellXcel and other approved academic enrichment programming that supports student growth and future readiness.
- Staff Supervision & Development: Recruit, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate 21st Century program staff. Provide regular guidance, feedback, and professional development to ensure staff effectively meet student and program needs.
Engagement & Collaboration
- Student/Family Engagement & Recruitment: Work with school staff, families, and students to recruit and retain participants, promote regular attendance, and create a welcoming and engaging after-school environment. Work collaboratively with the Family Futures Coach to engage parents and caregivers in their children's education. Support and participate in school-based family events and activities that promote student achievement and family engagement.
- School-Based Collaboration: Maintain strong working relationships with the principal, teachers, faculty, students, and school administrators. Participate in the Building Leadership Team and contribute to the school's academic and student-support strategies.
- Partner & Volunteer Coordination: Participate in regular meetings with the Family Futures Coach, school leadership, DPS, McKinley UMC, and other partners to coordinate activities, address challenges, and align services. Coordinate volunteers with the principal, teachers, and Family Futures Coach; identify opportunities for volunteers to support students, families, and program activities.
- Program Communication & Marketing: Promote 21st Century programming through appropriate communication and marketing materials, including program updates, photographs, videos, and other outreach materials.
Operational Effectiveness
- Program Operations & Compliance: Oversee the daily operation, quality, safety, and licensing compliance of the 21st Century program, including attendance, incident reporting, emergency procedures, facility requirements, and ODJFS requirements.
- Data Collection, Evaluation & Reporting: Collect, maintain, and submit required program data, including attendance, student growth, surveys, DESSA results, activity reports, and other 21st Century grant and DPS reporting requirements. Monitor program performance and use student, family, staff, and program data to identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen program quality and outcomes.
- Budget & Fiscal Management: Develop, monitor, and manage the 21st Century program budget, including Title XX funding, expenses, billing, and monthly invoices submitted to DPS for reimbursement.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or management staff.
