Medical Assistant Lead
Location: Peninsula Endocrinology and Metabolic Center

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and organized Medical Assistant Lead to join our growing endocrinology practice. The Medical Assistant Lead will provide clinical support to physicians while overseeing the daily workflow of the medical assistant team. This individual will serve as a role model, trainer, and resource for staff while helping ensure efficient patient care and exceptional customer service.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Support
- Lead, mentor, and support Medical Assistants in daily operations.
- Assist with onboarding and training new staff members.
- Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing coaching.
- Ensure compliance with practice policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate MA schedules and workflow to maximize efficiency.
- Serve as a liaison between providers, administration, and clinical staff.
Clinical Duties
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication reconciliation.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Administer injections and medications as directed by providers and within scope of practice.
- Process referrals, prior authorizations, and prescription refill requests.
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain exam room cleanliness, supplies, and equipment.
Administrative Duties
- Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical workflows.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering clinical supplies.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to HIPAA standards.
- Address patient concerns professionally and escalate issues as needed.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 3 years of Medical Assistant experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or training experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of EMR systems and clinical workflows. (EPIC)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
Preferred
- Experience in endocrinology, internal medicine, or specialty practice.
- Experience with prior authorizations and insurance verification.
